Well, we just got the news that our municipality will transition to phase 3 on Thursday. The main benefit of this is that we say goodbye to the permit system all week. In phase 2, we still needed a permit to to out on weekends and were limited to one. More businesses can open. Restaurants can serve outside with 25% capacity. I don't see myself going to a restaurant for a while, but I am happy I will finally be able to go to the nurseries around here (we have a lot) and get some trees and flower plants.

I really hope people are responsible so we don't get sent back a phase or 2.

Just tired of wearing face masks, social distancing, want things to be normal. Don’t have an issue doing these things to help prevent transmission of the virus, just tired of it.

we are about to enter a second lockdown from tomorrow (until the second december). our prime minister is still trying really hard to save christmas, but even if he does their's still going to be so many restrictions (the country is basically ****ed, not sure a month lockdown will do much good)

but hey: I am greatful that I don't have it, or no anyone that does.

one advantage to being an intrivert I guess: in a situation like this, you don't know anyone who can infect you

Our official keeps saying, "We're rounding the turn." But the health experts are saying that we're in for a deadly winter. It just sends a bad message. Just lies and lies. Seems like the only concern is for the economy and not the people.

we have a new advertising slogan over here, which is " hands, face, space" and it is meant to remind people to wash their hands, cover their face and social distance

bit annoying when you hear it over 50 times a day, but I guess it gets the message across (or I hope it does,) their's still lots of people who don't do it

I have to say I am a bit angry at the prime minister.

yesterday he's like oh.. well we're going in to lockdown tomorrow, today he's like oh.. schools are staying open though, schools are fine

as if

you can defenetly get covid from schools, bit of a breeding ground

still of the opinion that this lockdown will fail

Schools have been one of the main sources of infection where I live and I personally know a couple of teaching assistants who contracted it at work. I think the rationale of keeping them open is the children can't afford to lose anymore education. So they are in effect saying the infection will go through the school sector. I'm unsure of the wisdom of this too. It would've made sense to coincide lockdown with at least some of half term holiday to me.

Day 1 of new lockdown. It feels different this time to me - more organised because businesses are equipped to do online and click and collect. Trying to keep positive but who knows how this is going to pan out.

Also many parents can’t work from home so they can not afford to take care of kids.
Honestly, it has been a very tough situation for everyone.

Here, in Spain, apart from the lockdown from 10 pm to 6 am, it’s been putting the emphasise on hotel industry and restaurants business. In many communities bars, restaurants, hotels are going to suffer a total lockdown for at least 15 days. Considering that it’s the most important sector for Economy here, it’s being a big tragedy.

Most sectors, apart from grocery stores, took a hit in the last few months. Some brands didn't survive. The rest are making cuts to survive. All in all every sector has been affected. No one knows how to deal with the situation.

How is everyone feeling after the news of an apparently 90% effective vaccine on course?

Even flu vaccine is only 40-60% effective so this sounds extremely promising.

Personally I feel cautiously optimistic, cautious because it's not with us yet, but very very optimistic.

Hope everyone else is doing okay and feeling a little better because of it.

Lockdown 2 going much better than the first one here too- no panic buying in the store where I work and people seem calmer. Maybe it's experience- the lady I buy takeout coffee from jokes if there's lockdown 3 we will be professional at it by then!

Lol! Good joke!
Sure, we will end up being experts in immune system, deseases and mass destruction weapons. lol!

I’m hopeful for the vaccine. Thus it’s one of these ones that consists on giving the instruction to the immune system so it can fight better against the virus in case you get infested. Isn’t it amazing? How scientists can make these kinds of things.

I’m worried because now there’s this about conspiracy thing as to what the vaccine concerns. I have talked to some people and none of them want to be the first in getting the vaccine.
I can’t avoid wondering what kind of world we are living in that we find so hard to trust anything or anyone. Such a hostile world. Where all that fears come from? I wonder.

I need some medical appointments. But I won't make them right now. Our officials are saying that these are 'dark days'. I have one next week that I may reschedule. Or maybe I should go now before things get worse.

Honestly, I won't be first in line either. But for me it's nothing to do with conspiracy theories or not trusting.... it's just going so quick. There simply hasn't been any time to witness possible side effects in the longer term.

But since I'm neither high risk nor in a vital profession, I'm not in the first group to be offered the vaccine anyway

Well, so let’s leave others take the risk. It’s always the same story.
I love this “brotherhood”

My own sister told me that she didn’t want to receive the vaccine until she sees the results in others. Things are always for being made because we trust in someone else doing things for us.

I am more than happy to take a vaccine - I am signed up for the trial as a volunteer but unlikely to be called at this point, I will if they call me.

I have done a medical trial before for a med, it really was no bother and the medical checks they put me through were very thorough.

I am married to a clinically vulnerable person and volunteer with many others so for me as a youngish fit healthy person I feel the vaccine is very low risk/high gain.

Here, the same if I have to put the vaccine to avoid higher risks for the population, I put it.

Today someone told me that it often takes 5 years to test a vaccine and see if there’s a risk in its usage.
I had a different information. And I was shocked. I heard that it was often needed a year, working on it straight away.
I understand know the reticence of some people.
Which information you have about it, guys?

Even if it had been a year - it has been less than that by the time they are planning on starting vaccination. Germany is already setting up a strategy to start.

I've just seen the H1N1 vaccine been brought up several times that was linked to a rise in narcolepsy cases.... even if it's rare, it makes me a little nervous.
