this is really affecting my life since i really get scared easily by loud sound and

i'll feel my heart beating fast and nervous as hell i end up cover my ears and feel embarassed.

no matter how many times i hear them, i'll always get scared.

some examples:

- fireworks

- thunderstorms

- loud car's exhausts

- baloons

- some dogs barking (mostly larger dogs)


my guess would be my ears are really sensitive to this kind of "sudden loud noises"

because i dont have a problem on concerts or cinemas, where the loud sound is continuous.


anyone else here experience this? how do you handle this?
i already tried to use ear-plugs and i still get scared anyway, plus i wouldn't feel comfortable wearing them on the street

Have you considered doing a heavy-metals detox? Advanced TRS has a pretty good reputation and also flatlined my levels down to near 0.

I always been terrified of thunderstorms. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best

Dear kazurengan, I also am extremely sensitive to all the noises you listed. I feel like the noise is attacking me. If the sound continues I end up crying & want to scream, but I'm afraid of being heard by neighbors, so I muffle my screams. I have to wait till the sound stops before I can relax & breathe normally. And like you said, other sounds don't bother me, as long as they aren't painfully loud. Most dogs hate thunderstorms & many freak out. I can really sympathize & relate with them.

Do you live alone and a naturally quiet person?

That could be why you react this way to certain loud noises. My aunt can't handle crockery and glasses quietly, often making me jump when I'm at her house. She jokes about it but never makes any effort to be quieter. My neighbours have commented they never hear me.

Could be current situation has heightened our senses, so a car backfiring seems louder. Only a thought...
