why is a fear of a zombie apocalypse so amusing to people?

seriously: I have one (made worse by the current covid situation) and everyone looks at me as if to say... zombies?. what planet are you living on again? (I've even had a few people laugh at me)

but ugg. I am scared of an apocalypse. that doesn't hurt anyone, right?

I mean I wouldn't laugh at other people's anxieties, soooo..

any ideas how I can be less scared of an apocalypse would be really apreciated

I have never watched the "Walking Dead" series and no longer watch many horror movies (a campy movie like "Gremlins" is about as much as I care to see). Are you currently watching or reading about zombies? If you are, I would recommend avoiding the consumption of anything in the media (including news) that stokes your fears.

I have to watch out what I am consuming on YouTube because of my anxiety about famines and economic collapse. I pray for protection for me and my family and will pray for you as well.

I believe there are books written describing what to do if faced with a zombie apocalypse so it must be a common fear.

Also, many people keep common items close by to protect from and ward off different kinds of evil, malicious or brain-starved beings.

When I'm afraid of something I always do something else to counteract that fear. Afraid of starving? Eat some food. Afraid of being cheated on? Date someone you can actually trust.

In short, do what soothes your heart and mind! If I were you, prepping for the zombie apocalypse would make me feel better. It's only logical. If you had 5 years of food stocked up and a bunch of water
would you still be afraid? I bet you'd feel much better. It's A-Okay to prepare in my book!

On a more spiritual level feeling excessive fear, feeling unsafe, and unprotected, can also be an imbalance in the "Root Chakra". Best of luck to you. I hope you feel much safer soon!!

Man I thought I was the only one worried about a zombie apocalypse regarding Covid. I mean, I do trust the vaccine but my dumb *** anxiety sometimes makes me think very strange things.

I haven't been afraid of a zombie apocalypse, but I have been afraid that the current COVID crisis might be the end of things. I feel ashamed that before this happened, I used to enjoy reading books about pandemics and apocalypse situations.

I believe there are free books on the subject, and a free kindle app that can be downloaded to a smart phone or computer, if you are interested in reading more information on surviving that sort of situation. I downloaded health survival books and know where I can get fresh water and firewood. I had a problem several years back, and saved water in bleach containers (I was told this would help preserve it from going stale or spoiling, something like that) and I saved canned food.

I do feel the anxieties can come from a place of being ignored or unsafe in your own life. It's really a decision about what is happening in your life.

I don't think it's wrong to be scared. Who knows what is in our future? My spouse and I were just talking about that issue earlier. I do believe it's survival of the fittest, and I'm not one of those, so I'm going to carry my big stick if the time comes.
