I had a panic attack a few weeks ago. I have GAD. My friend moved away and I think that triggered it. Since that happened, I've been super keyed up. I haven't seen a therapist in a couple of years, and I take 150mg of setraline. I often have that throat lump feeling these days, last week I cried a couple of days.
I'm afraid the setraline isn't working weird and I'll have to go through looking for something new. I started using that Calm magnesium stuff and it is ok, but I still don't feel great. I've tried meditating, I'm doing yoga when I can. I've been making art, playing music sometimes. I'm drinking less coffee now- from 3 cups a day to one. I'm trying to do what I can to feel better. I don't really have close family, though I do have a partner. This time of year tends to be sad for me since I've lost the family I was once close to. |

Dear RamblinClementine,
I am so sorry you are in this situation. It sounds utterly distressing and stressful. When a friend of mine moved away a couple of years ago, I just fell apart: constant anxiety, relentless depression and awful panic attacks. I can't remember feeling worse in my whole life. Although I am not in your shoes, I think I can feel some of what you describe. Wish I knew what to say to ease the pain your are going through. My heart goes out to you! Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

How are things going now? I also have GAD. And panic attacks suck. I'm so sorry your friend moved away. I'm wondering how the music, art, meditation, yoga and other tools are helping?
