Does anyone else struggle with this? Or have past experience?

99% of the time I have sex I'm erect; however when making plans to conceive I feel physically and mentally tense (like full body internal tremors, and constant mental focus on doing it and if I'll get it up for the need).

I managed to get it done 2 out of the 3 times, but it took a lot of work and semi-erect sex. The final time; I couldn't get it up at all.

I'm anxious about it because I am normally "good to go whenever I want" and when I actually have to use my goods for a reason; I can't. I just feel like I am letting her down and it hurts me. The disappointment makes it worse.

- I'm 32, I have OCD, and have one child already.

Cheers!!

Dear GSC2019,

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I wish I knew how to help.

A long time ago I read an article about something called "paradoxical intention." As a remember, it is a technique useful in the situation you describe. When one is feeling pressure to do something, one tries "not" to do it and "paradoxically" this causes the desired outcome.

I think the technique was developed by a psychiatrist named Viktor Frankl. For example, if a person is trying to fall asleep and can't, he or she does the opposite and tries to stay awake. Once the pressure to fall asleep passes, it becomes easier to fall asleep. I think this technique has been used in sexual matters too with some success. Perhaps I am wrong. My memory is horrible.

You might want to do an internet search on "paradoxical intention" if you are interested in the technique. I am really sorry I cannot be helpful. Hopefully others here will prove helpful to you.

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen
