Does anyone else get bouts of thantophobia? It comes and goes for me but since I hit 30 for whatever reason I have had this problem it ebbs and flows but it's nearly always there. I don't have any physical ailments that I know of but I'm just scared of dying sometimes. I think more than anything I fear dying having lived a pointless existence, or having done more damage than healing in my life. I try to comfort myself with the thought that we are all in the same "boat" but still there is something very personal about contemplating one's own death.

Definitely! I used to have a pen pal (way back in my teens lol) who mentioned something you might like to look up called ‘equanimity’ - it’s basically what you achieve when you’ve made peace with the idea of dying. I’m definitely not there yet, though.
