I took 4 Xanax in less then an hour and I still just feel so anxious. I have this feeling in my throat. I don’t know if it’s a panic attack or not. But I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried my other coping skills besides meds and they aren’t helping. I honestly don’t know what to do right now. I have a therapist but I don’t trust her and besides it’s Sunday. I don’t have anyone else to talk to.

What should I do?

Are you still taking your steroid every other weekend? Is this weekend on or off? Also, since you took 5 xanax yesterday, your body is probably just reacting to the "shortage" - like its not ACTUAL anxiety like about an event, its just your body noticing the lower dose.

I also was diagnosed with low vitamin D about a month ago and my doctor told me to take vitamins but I haven’t. Can low vitamin D cause anxiety and depression?

I dont know about D. But if my magnesium or electrolytes are off, i get very depressed. You were drinking a lot of water the past few days. Maybe get some gatorade?

I don’t have Gatorade but I do have orange juice and Sunny D. I just now took my vitamin D and I ate some Goldfish crackers because carbs can often help me feel better.

I switched my shots to every week. So I got it yesterday morning. I’ve had my levels tested a few times during routine blood work and I’ve been in the normal range each time. So I don’t think it’s that. Sometimes my mood does get low from the shots but it’s usually the day before.

How are you feeling today? Did you get to talk to your psychiatrist?

I still feel the same. I misread my notes and my appointment with my Pdoc is actually next Monday instead of the 29th. So I just have to hold on for a few more days.

I’m sorry a lot. Do you have the possibility to connect him/her by phone before 29th or even try to set the appointment earlier. You know, sometimes people annul or delay their appointments.

I don’t know how your strength is but if you can do some of physical exercise, even a mild one. Maybe, it can help you a little.
P.S.: I was reading again your main post and you said that you don’t trust your therapist. I wonder if in your country is the therapist who also prescribes medication. In my country has to be the psychiatrist. What I want to mean is that if you don’t trust your therapist, I doubt anything good could get out of it.
Wonder why you don’t trust her, just in case it could be a hard step for you on the therapy. It could happen. Sometimes we are not ready to work on a certain point. But, if it’s an objective lack of confidence, if you can change of therapist. I know that it’s very important you trust the professional.

I set up an emergency appointment tomorrow. I kind of want to go to the hospital. But mental health hospitals scare me so badly because out of the 22 hospitalizations I’ve had only about 5 of them were decent and where I wasn’t bullied or physically attacked by both staff and patients. And now I am at risk for harassment and assault and even possible murder just by my leaving house to go to the store. I can’t imagine what a psych hospital would do to me now.

My therapist makes things worse in a scary and disturbing way. I asked to be switched to someone else today. I live in the United States so my Pdoc prescribes my meds.
