I have not been taking my medication properly for a while now. I only take it once and not ona consistent schedule anymore just sort of whenever I get around to it. I think I might be giving up.

Is there a specific reason why you came off them/stopped them? I would contact your Psychiatrist or treatment team

Please do contact your pdoc and any support team you might have. I believe that if we're on medication that is truly working for us we're far more inclined to stay on it. It's possible you need a med adjustment.

Did you notice an undesirable side effect as dizziness?
If so, can you go to urgency services and bring out the problem?
Or at least, can you contact your doc so (s)he will tell you the best way to retire these meds and try other.
I told you because as soon as I began to take Citalopram, in the past, I had to attend to the emergency service because I felt very bad with dizziness.

I don’t have insurance which means med adjustments are not in the cards for me. I just don’t have the... energy to take them. I’m tired of fighting and struggling. I can’t fix myself, and I have been reliably informed that no one can fix things for me. Life is too hard for me, I just don’t “get it”. I had a trauma a little over two years ago and my whole life has fallen apart since then, throw COVID on top and I just don’t want to anymore.

Ok. At least, don’t give it up straight away.
How long have you been taking Citalopram?

20mg is a low dosage but still you have to get rid of them little by little. For example, during the first week, day on and day off.

You have another possibility. Maybe you run into an online doctor who can give you some information about how to get rid of them in the safest way as possible.

I checked it up a little and it’s safer one pill each two days, then, half a pill each two days and finally, in the third week, only a quarter each two days.
All this if you’ve been taking it for months.

Knowing what’s wrong is fine. It’s a good step but
it’s only the beginning, I’m afraid.
Maybe if you tell us a little more. Can you afford to go to a psychologist? I don’t know...I’m now only trying to guess in case I can tell you something helpful.

I've gone off of all my meds a couple of times over the years and it never worked out very well.. I wouldn't recommend it. I really believed that if I stopped taking the meds, that I would not have MI anymore.

Never again.

Well there you have it. I just got back on medication after not being on it for a couple of years. In my case I went off it because I was trying to erase my psychiatric records in pursuit of a career. Well if I reapply for that job and get to the psych evaluation, I deal with it then, being off my medication caused me to relapse with marijuana which really messed me up. I think you would feel better about yourself if you went back on your medication. Maybe try a different one. I’m on Wellbutrin for the first time and it seems to be helping .
