Quitting caffeine helped a lot with anxiety, insomnia, and heart rate.

My anxiety really sucks right now. Theres stuff I can do for it but it will mess up other things I worked hard on. I'm too anxious to eat even though thats probably one of my main issues right now. Plus eating doesn't really help my anxiety anyways. Like I feel my overall anxiety is ok. Then at times its not. I don't know what I need tbh

I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning, @Violetta75 and that's it. I would get a headache if I didn't get my coffee fix. But that's all I have for the day.

This morning, I've done a couple of things that scare me... they are simple things really, but are blown out of proportion with my anxiety to the point that I freeze and shut down. I was able to do just a couple of simple things that I've been putting off (like write an email) and I feel much better.
Now I'm rewarding myself with a hot foot bath...

I started taking ginger nausea chews last night and they worked pretty well today for my nausea which then helped my anxiety stay calm.

Yes, @Violetta, you don’t need to hear or watch the news. They are so depressing. I’ve been avoiding them from a long time and it’s making me good and helping to go on my progress.

Cool. I think that I read that ginger into milk could help before going to sleep.

I totally get this. I was at some family events lately and it was awkward at first. Then things kind of settled down. I wasn't super anxious the whole time, but I was definitely anxious.

I'm not sure why sometimes. It sometimes comes on out of nowhere...

I was frustrated with some computer issues, beforehand, so maybe my anger got converted into anxiety? Is that possible?

Yes. I think it is.
Anxiety is like a beast waiting for being fed with your energy.
Computer setbacks also take the mosts out of me. Maybe because I don’t like to waste time with technology. I mean, I like when it makes things easier for us but when it comes to be a headache, I simply don’t find any sense.

Little by little, I train myself to be more positive about tough situations and it works.

Hope you feel better soon. 👍

Yes anger is adrenaline, & can easily lead to anxiety

@AzulOscuro Yeah, I think perhaps I could take a step back when faced with technology-challenges and do something else. That way I could do something positive and over which I have some control.

That's fascinating @MaverickLovesYou... I think that's what happened in my case. There's a David Hanscom video on YouTube where he says anger and anxiety are on the same continuum, but your explanation about the adrenaline is a key point. Thank you....

I wonder whether it's possible to figure out how to get rid of that excess adrenaline?? Maybe through exercise?

Yes exercise. The only other way is rest/sleep afaik. Supplements like magnesium & B-Complex, chamomile tea can help too. I don't like meds but Klonopin can help

I guess it had been already mentioned in this thread but I wouldn’t discard some kind of relaxation exercises or mindfulness practise to help you get into your sleep. I personally find it very useful.

There are many herbs infusions that help to relax but you have to be cautious about how they work in the organism because some are beneficial but others may interact with other health issues that you may have.

It's interesting you mention magnesium and B-complex... I take that every morning along with omega-3.

I also have Ativan to use PRN, if things get too bad ...

One thing that interests me is finding ways to actually be angry because I believe I internalize a lot of anger, as it was not an accepted emotion when I was growing up; I was not allowed to be/get angry.

When I do get angry, it feels like I'm a bad person or something... I end up feeling guilty.... and then it feels like everything is going to go out of control.

I posted an article in the OCD forum that proposes that feeling guilty actually brings on OCD... it's interesting...

I use a guided meditation to help me. And I really think that exercise is going to be key... I've been using a rebounder trampoline to help get my anger out and to help me feel grounded... but I need more exercise in general, going for strolls is not enough... i think I need something to get the blood pumping...
