Hey,

I still struggle to see a point in therapy of anxiety since it won't really get rid of the it.
If getting rid of the anxiety is not the goal, then what is?

To me, a non-psychologist, I think if you've had anxiety a while it's hard to "cure" because some anxiety is normal. I think the goal of treatment should be to make you more able to handle it. To get your mind and body stronger, so that when the anxiety does come you are able to deal with it. Anxiety is both in your mind and your body. So, things like CBT for your mind and deep breathing or muscle relaxation for your body are often mentioned. Journaling and exercise, mindfulness and yoga. Antidepressants and anti anxiety meds. Cutting stimulants like caffeine and sugar. Mind and body.

Again I agree that I don't think you can get rid of it, but you can better manage it so that it's not so difficult. It takes effort and time.
