Hi, my name is Sam and I am trying to find a place where I can find people who may have advice on how to handle anxiety and how they got over theirs. I'm going through counseling and trying to better myself for me and all of the people around me. But I don't always know how to do it on my own and feel like a burden always asking friends for help. So I'm hoping here it can help me get better and grow.

Hi Sam4,

Welcome to the Forums. It is very nice to meet you.

I am so very, very sorry you are afflicted with anxiety. It is such a heavy burden to carry!

Anxiety is something I also struggle against. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder. Medication prescribed by my doctor helped me a lot as well as cognitive therapy. There are some self-help books that were quite helpful too. If you are interested I can tell you the names of them.

Anxiety can be such a brutal, brutal thing. Those not afflicted with it have no idea how burdensome and scary it can be. My heart goes out to you!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen
