Also known as Visteril or Atarax. Any thoughts? Is it helpful for anxiety/panic?

I thought it was for allergies and nausea? I was given it with Anesthesia to keep me from throwing up afterwards. I can’t recall if it lowered my anxiety cause I was on many meds for surgery. I googled it and the first thing that came up was that it was for anxiety, nausea and allergies. Sounds like it could work.

I’m using that now for sleep it helps to relax and of course the allergy aspects helps one to sleep too. I’m not sure how it works during the day or for sudden panic. Another I use is busbar, a very low dose specifically for anxiety.

I was once offered it for anxiety to help come off of Klonopin. But, lo and behold, the Klonopin works better for me.

Is that something your doctor lets you take the lead on or do you have to run everything by her/him ? My primary trusts me so if I say something isn’t working and toss it she knows I’m being honest. My psychiatrist always wants to be informed about any changes stopping or starting. Dose changes etc. but I completely understand.

He doesnt really pay attention to what I do/say even when I'm straight up being honest with him and telling him everything. So I just kind of do my own thing.
