My brother has not been heard from in over a week. He has a mental Illness & is probably out of meds now. He is always losing his phone & going MIA but I think the longest was 3 or 4 days. He borrowed a phone and found a way. He was released from rehab with no housing in place..they had 4 days at a shelter but he refused. My mom put him up at a hotel for a few days but then it ran out. He tried to call my mom & sister but they were at an event & didn’t hear the phone..only the message that his phone is about to die & he’s stranded. My mom finally filed a missing persons report after 4-5 days. My friend looked for him where he says he was going to crash. I know the cops may have ran him off and my mom is scared he hitchhiked. I’m having major anxiety & depression and my thoughts are racing. He is 49 years old and I’ve done everything I can possibly do..not sure what else can be done. Not sure if he went somewhere out of the area and confused due to his mental state or what.

Oh no @Gymgirl71 that sounds worrisome. Many times I imagine the worst but it does not happen so I am trying not to spend too much energy worrying when something unexpected happens.

Some police departments are working with NAMI to get training in how to deal with people with mental health issues. Hope your brother meets someone like that and you hear something soon. @CANDC

Thank you everyone. My sister is handing out flyers. So far no one has seen him in the area. So not sure where he could have gone with no money and dead phone….its not a huge city.
