I am anxious today because not only are the owners of my company here this week and last week, they are from NY and I am in CA so we see them a couple of times a year...but today also another boss is coming from NY and will be here for three days and I don't really get along with her well so I am kind of stressed out about it. I can't take any medicine to calm me down because I took a PRN of my Lybalvi yesterday for anxiety and Schizoaffective disorder symptoms and I am still numbed out of my gourd. But the anxiety is underneath. It's really stressful. Any advice? HUGS if you want them, Kit.

Oh my goodness, Kit, I can easily imagine the situation! Maybe you can visualize & kind of calmly daydream about that moment when they will be gone. I remember when a couple of them from New York came there & before they left they told you what a great job you were doing & not to let anyone tell you different. So maybe think about that?

The boss at the last place i worked, the place that fired me, told me i was becoming more trouble than i was worth. This statement was a surprise to me, because i didnt realize that i was worth anything to them at all. At all. I hope you can recognize your worth to them. I mean i can see it from here! You do everything for them and what takes anybody else all day you can do in an hour. You would have to step on a lot of peoples toes, hard!, to get them mad at you. They know it would take five people to replace you. If you can just stay at your desk, i really dont think you will get into any trouble for apologizing to people, which seems to me like about the worst (if you can call it that!) you have ever done.

Take it as an experience to learn from. It’s not easy to deal with people who we dislike or don’t get very well along with. This is the challenge that will make you stronger. Stand up for your place but be friendly.
Keep the idea that you are worthy and be yourself.

Meanwhile, to avoid your mind thinks a lot, first, don’t try to fight against these thoughts because they are gonna be there, but try to focus on something else without forcing your mind that it’s gonna play bad games with you by bringing these thoughts over and over again.

Also, and secondly, think about other moments you felt like this and then, you realised nothing bad happened and you even succeed.

Thanks all. Yesterday went well. We seem to communicate better in person than we do on Microsoft Teams messages where I tend to take things personally or take it the wrong way. I hope we can build upon our relationship these next two days that she is here and it will be easier all around to communicate going forward. I am not too anxious today about working with her today. I hope things will go well.

Thank you, Kit, for sharing this experience with us. It's a common situation where many of us have trouble with our feelings. Personally, authority figures make me nervous, even on the phone. Like reps at the major companies, & government offices. I tell myself, they're just people with a job, but something inside me feels nervous anyway.
