Bad chest pain from anxiety. I was just washing dishes and thinking how long it will take me to get my house picked up. Then it started. It's fading away now.

I don't get that often. It sure hurts when I do. The first time I got it, I had someone take me to the ER. It was 2005. Now I know it's just anxiety, and I can make it go away.

I'ld love to know exactly how that pain happens.

On the “re:” line for some posts in this thread it says #6 or #7. That’s why I was confused but I guess I’m in the latest thread or right one since nobody is saying I’m not.

Otherwise worried about getting enough sleep daily due to chaotic routine and noise from upstairs.

I'm worried I won't get back to my normal state of mind, which is pretty good. I have these bad episodes, like now.

Wish I could stop anticipating things. I couldn’t sleep till 1am cause I was waiting for something to startle me awake anyway. Afraid I won’t be able to get back to my normal sleep schedule. And it doesn’t help somebody had a noisy car starting which I didn’t anticipate but made it harder to try to drift off.

My panic attacks are better than earlier this week. My anxiety is still present and causing havoc.

I felt physical anxiety at work all day, even though it was an easy day as far as workload. I felt tension throughout my body and a bit of an anxious stomach. The tension was still there even when I left work, so I'm not sure what that is even about. My therapist said some anxiety at work is normal, but I don't think it feels normal when it is all day throughout the day and even once work was over with. I don't know what I'm so nervous about. It's so frustrating. My therapist says practice self-talk, but I'm having a hard time with it. Also, I went to the dentist, and he noticed I've been grinding my teeth, and he said it's likely anxiety.

Spent 3 weeks in the hospital. My anxiety totally paralyzed me. The hospital was horrible, none of the staff listened to me except for the doctors. I've never been able to control my anxiety. My doctors want me to try psychadelic therapy.

I had some chest pains with anxiety. I thought maws having a heart attack

Buffy I feel like that all the time. What if? Then what if this happens cause of that? The anticipation is worse than the event. Last night I just slept 3 hours cause of my upstairs neighbor. I was waiting for him to make more noise so why try to drift off? I’ll just get startled awake again. Damn crap of a building with the thinnest construction.

I think, if it’s quiet did he go out? What if he comes home as I drift off?

And the more I think about it the more awake I am. And later it gets the worse the anxiety as I think how I have to sleep.

Been having a lot of anxiety lately. Nothing seems to help. I do have medication to take, which I do sometimes, but I don't want to take it too often and get dependent.

Dr. in the hospital said I wasn't challenging my anxiety. I don't know how to do that. I've tried everything the last 45 years.

Anxiety was bad earlier but I have been calming it down. I have been reminding myself of lots of blessings that I have. Dread can feel painful. But being here & remembering the words of wonderful helpers in my life gives me logical hope. Thank you!

I have been having lots of anxiety and panic attacks. I am trying to remember to do a lot of deep breathing and box breathing and also to take my anxiety medicine when it gets to be too much. I don't really have lots of tips on how to control anxiety. Sometimes it seems to control me!

Me either and me too. How is box breathing different from deep breathing? I never heard of it.

Sigh I get tired of this trite advice of “mindfulness”. That doesn’t do much for me especially for things I know the outcome of already.

Box breathing is inhaling for a count to four. Holding for a count to four. Exhaling for a count to four. Holding for a count to four. Repeat four times (for a total of 5 times).

Deep breathing to me is different although I am not an expert. Deep breathing is engaging the diaphragm. It doesn't necessarily require me to hold my breath. Breathing where I see my tummy go in and out as I inhale and exhale.

Oh I thought that WAS deep breathing, holding it for a few seconds both inhaling and exhaling. Don’t even know where the diaphragm is and don’t want to know lol. Air here is very dry with wind and a high pollen count. So breathing deep isn’t comfortable at the moment.

Anxiety at this moment is too much. Maybe later will be better. Something says I need to get much stronger?
