I hate the things, and it isn't just the fact that they can bang and scare you senseless

They are just, I don't know.. weird

Even with no air in them, balloons are scary

I hate the things

I never liked them even as a kid. And when they pop, they sound like gunshots. Or that's what people who have been near mass shootings say the shots sound like.

They get caught in power lines and I know those metallic ones can cause problems. And they smell funny.

I never liked them because of the sound they made when popping. I remember a party we had in second grade where you had to sit on a balloon to pop it to get candy or something, and I wouldn't do it.

Plus I can never blow up the frigging things no matter how hard I try.

I don't blame you,

If I was at the party and asked to do that, I think I'd run out of the room

They do smell weird don't they?

Hard to really say what it even smells like

And yes, I do agree on the gunshot thing

I’m okay now with them but I have to be the one to pop them so I know exactly when the bang is coming. Didn’t like them as a child though.
