This is going in the anxiety section because this is something that in the past would have caused me no end of awful embarrassment, wanting to hide and thinking I'm stupid. But it didn't. I was standing in line at lunch today and there were about 7 or 8 people at the table, a drug rep, and a research rep were there when one lady looked me and said, "ok, is it because of the turtleneck your wearing or what?" Told her I had no idea what she was talking about and was totally confused. She said, "well it looks like it's on backwards." I reached up and nope, turtleneck not on backwards. My uniform shirt OVER my turtleneck is on backwards!! Has a v-neck and two front pockets that were now in the back. Of course everyone starting laughing and joking and I spent about 2 seconds feeling embarrassed before joking and laughing with them. I laughed about it. May not seem like a big thing, but I do not like people even noticing me, let alone when I have something wrong with me. But it didn't kill me, devastate me, hurt me or even bother me. Hmmm, never knew I could do that!!

Thank you. To make it easier, one of my friends here (ha-so Dr. A lied a couple weeks ago when he said everyone here hates me!) said, "If you have something hanging out of your nose, I'll tell you, but you're on your own with your clothes." So everyone laughed at her and that made it easier.

Great! Just today my nail tech and I were laughing over her wearing two different shoes while on vacation... laughing because I've done that too. It's so much better if you can get to where laughing feels good ...okay... and not just to fit in. We're all human, and it's those people who would put you down for such a human mistake that have the problem, not you, not for this.
Way to go!

Oh sweety...how I"ve been in your shoes so many times. To be able to have a good laugh at ourselves is one of the best things we can do.....I laugh hardest when I laugh at my human foibles....all the time!
I'll tell you a little story about something that happened to me - Back in the 7th grade (many eons ago) I was in school one day and needed to use the girls room during class. The teacher allowed me to go and I didn't realize until I got back to my class (because of all the snickers and laughter from the teacher & students) that the back of my skirt was tucked up and not pulled down to where it belonged exposing my unmentionables. So here I am walking around the hallways back to my class with my derriere (covered of course) sticking out for all the school to see!!   Talk about embaressing !!!!!!!!!!! OMG I thought I would die a thousand deaths and really wanted to for about 5 seconds....it was at that time that I realized I needed to laugh at myself...right along with the others and not take myself so dang seriously. It could have happened to anyone....it just to happened that it was my turn  I have a few other wonderful moments in my life too....but I'll save those stories for another time  ((((((((((( csc )))))))))))) I'm glad you survived (I knew you would) and had a good laugh at yourself....I would say it was a good day for you  sabby |

Thank you so much! How wonderful that you were able to achieve that at such an early point in your life. How different my life would have been if I had had that skill then. But I'm getting it now!

Thank you! I'm hoping for more good news--today is going to be a challenge. I get to deal with two people I clash with--but... chin(s) up, shoulders back, smile on and....go!!
