((((girlcharm))) i share these beliefs with you and i can tell you the same as you also shared here with us.. for some these techniques are exactly the thing i think and there are many at PC here who apply a form of meditation in daily routines and i know that if they will keep at it, in time, they will also discover the truth of what you are saying..

methods of medicine in America and the West have altered slightly from those in what we now refer to as "The Old World" which really is meant to refer to the place we all came from i think..

but back to the topic.. Eastern and "Old World" medicines are catching up to the West as we mature and expand into the areas we still need more integration with and understanding of...

thank you for bringing these methods to the surface again for us and i hope many will take time to consider that 'old' and 'different' is relational to the way we think in terms of 'New" and "better" .. we can learn very much from our ancient teachers... thank you

I thought I was alone or me and my boyfriend were the only ones that thought this way it nice to know there are other people out there that belive like we do

I have worked on and off with meditation for many years....now I have a Teacher that I work with -both in a class and privately every couple of weeks....and the difference is amazing. It's like I'm cultivating this calm place inside of myself that I can return to when I need it. When my mind starts spiraling out and the anxiety starts to build up, I can breathe and be here, now, and it can be okay.

It doesn't work every time. But every time it DOES work, it is a miracle, and a huge relief, to be able to do this for my Self.

For ME, I had to work with a teacher....doing it on my own worked for a while, but there were some roadblocks I couldn't get past. I know others who have been able to learn what they needed to learn on their own with books and CDs

Good luck to you...and thank you so much for posting this

I don't think it sounds weird at all. It seems to me that all societies have had some religious or philosophical school of thought that actually required its members to go away--at least for a time--to learn to live in a more meditational, perhaps even ritualistic manner that enriches their lives. I do, however, think some of those groups have been healthier in their approach than other groups.
