so i thought i was having a panic attack, it was brought on by a lot of stress and worrying, so i thought it wa s, but then i went to a psychiatrist and she said it could have been a partial seizure.... has anyone else had any experiences of panic attacks that they would share with me so i can see what a "panic attack" is supposed to be?

my attack/ seizure was weird
i was crying really hard ( something i never do) and then all of the sudden it went black, really black and then i was like i wasn't in my body. i knew my friend was touching my arm, and could hear her voice, but i was not in my body. I was all alone, so alone, almost like i was falling into a dark hole...before all this happened my right leg and left wrist started to twitch uncontrollably. when i came back i was so tired. i felt that way for days.

I have had more, but none to that extent.

help please
sarah

Hi Sarah. I had my "attack" about 15+ years ago, I had a terrible headache, was nauseous, and on my way to the loo, I just passed out. My bf said that my body jerked before I passed out. Lots of tests later, it was found that my brain waves was not 100% (similar to epilepsy). I've been on medication ever since, and no subsequent episodes. I then started to suffer from anxiety attacks, for fear of passing out again. Additional medication also solved that. My "normal" anxiety attack is breathlessness, heart racing, perspiring, difficulty to swallow, enormous tension in my back, and almost "crazy in the head" feeling. Good luck, don't despair, these "bad" times do pass, I promise. Take care

the first thing i'd suggest is to see your regular doctor. if he feels some tests should be run, then that'll clear up the question and give you peace of mind. i don't know why your pdoc didn't suggest this (!!!)).
having said that, my panic attacks sometimes in the past have had some strange symptoms. i was talking with a girlfriend on the phone. (I was very upset about my abuser at the time) she said i started to slur my words and not making any sense. she told me to hang up and she was calling EMT. after i hung up i looked in the mirror and only half my face smiled or had any expression. then my entire right side went numb. i had to drag myself to the door. tests were run, they thought i'd had a stroke..emt's. turns out it was only a panic attack. how weird is that??
since then i take klonopin for the panic attacks and anxiety and only a few times has the panic attack been able to cause symptoms since.

I lost complete muscle control and motor skills at work one day.....luckily I worked in a hospital and was taken to Emergency. After a few tests they couldn't find anything and said I might have had a panic attack. I know they present differently but this was no panic attack. It took me four hours to be able to even sit up! I have since found out that I have thyroid problems and muscle weakness is one of the symptoms.

I have also fallen unconscious whilst walking and completely cut my face up. My face took the full force of my fall. No explanation again and I was sent to be tested for epilepsy. No go from ECG(or EEG? can't think at the moment) but put on sodium valproate just to be safe.

I have had in the past what I would describe as a panic attack. Same as what madisgram said I think. Get checked. You just never know. Anxiety is also a symptom of thyroid issues.
