at age 6 i supposedly had 9 cavities and my mom took me to a child specialist dentist out of compassion. this man specialized in children but NOT for the reasons he advertised. my brother and i were molested and physically traumatized by this monster and i have a terrible time making myself to go to a dentist for even basic routine preventive care. I've been in very severe pain for 4 days now and will be seen tomorrow.

i will be going tomorrow at 9am and i am distressed at the idea of going and i've had trouble in the past trying to communicate my difficulties. some dentists have treated me with disrespect and with barely disguised contempt. my first dentist deliberately increased the pain we felt and i have trouble staying composed when they have to cause me some pain.

i would appreciate any suggestions on getting through this in an appropriate way and i would appreciate prayer from those who are into that spiritual practice. thank you all very, very much! i am a dissociative and do not wish to have to tell the dentist about it if i can help it. but if my little girl parts get too upset i could suddenly begin to behave like a 6 year old which could be really upsetting for us all. grr...sigh.

leslie sending lots of s to you and prayers too! you could ask the dentist for an attendant(dental tech) to be in the room at all times when he is with you. that is a reasonable request under the circumstances.
let us know how things go after you get home.
