Hi my name is Jennara. I'm 23 years old. I suffer from health anxiety or hypocondriasis. I have for 8 years. I have had anxiety and panic since I was very young, like 6.
I suffer everyday from worry over my health and I seem to be pretty healthy. I have sinus problems bc of cleft lip and palate and scoleosis (sp?), but otherwise pretty healthy.
I need some friends to relate to! I'm trying to learn how to use this website. I'm just frustrated with my life right now and need some friends to lean on!
Nice to meet everyone!

Jennara

I can't speak for anyone else but I am right there with you. When I was 8 I checked myself into the ER because I swore that I had ebola. I spent my childhood reading medical journals and was eventually the one that all my friends called when they had symptoms of something and didn't want to tell their parents. Nothing's really changed except for the fact that I realize how crazy I sound when I tell doctors that I think I have a brain tumor, cancer, or something that I saw on House, and when they ask me why I say because I had a headache or because I have a feeling lol. I'm always telling people that I think that I am going to die before I am thirty but apparently that's pretty common. Oh, and welcome to the board!

Hi Jennara,

I have lots of anxiety, but not about my health, as you describe your problems. But I think you will find others here who can relate to you. Give it time. And

But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."
