Hi,
I was told to look into attachment theory. I have dated only four people in my life. I broke up with them. I couldn’t feel emotionally or physically close to them. I never really wanted to be in these relationships. The people were nice but the relationships stressed me out. Kissing and handholding was always awkward for me and uncomfortable. One relationship went further but even that one I didn’t feel any emotional connection. I have a guy at work who likes me as more than a friend. I wouldn’t even call us friends. But he asked me what I would do if he kissed me. When I am asked that it makes me uncomfortable. I never was the one who initiated a kiss in my past relations. Being in those relationships was like a chore. And showing any affection kissing or handholding was feeling like a chore. I really struggle connecting to people. I spent a lot of my time alone growing up. I was closest to my brothers always wanting to be around them. Is this like a type of attachment issue? |
