I looked at the book review section but didn't find any books for Adult ADD. I was just diagnosed and was given a list of books by my therapist but obviously don't have time to read them all. Has anyone read an Adult ADD book they really liked or thought was really helpful? Or did you find a book that you thought was terrible?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks a bunch!!!

Ann

Forgive me on this one, for I cannot remember if it included adult ADD and I cannot remember the author but it was called Driven to Distraction, I am sure if you punch in the title you'll get the author's name, even try at a local library.
If you come across any please post them here, then we can put them at the top of the threads here for everyone clicking onto the ADD/ADDHD forum to see Recommend any books?
Lots of luck

"Driven to Distraction" is on the list from my therapist. I didn't see it in the book reviews but maybe I didn't look in the right place. Thanks for the recommendation.

There's also a good one called "You mean I'm not lazy, stupid or crazy" by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo.

Driven to Distraction is by Edward Hallowell, MD and John J. Ratey, MD.

I'm currently reading both and they are both very informative.

There are a few books I like, besides those already mentioned...

Journeys Through ADDulthood

Adventures in Fast Forward: Life, Love, and Work for the Add Adult

A.D.D. Kaleidoscope The Many Faces of Adult Attention Deficit Disorder

Also, especially useful if you work in an office:

ADD in the Workplace: Choices, Changes, and Challenges

Hunter in a Business World: How to Succeed in Business With Attention Deficit Disorder

But, a REAL favorite is:

ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Live

For information about ADHD and kids I'd recommend "All about ADD" by Thomas Phelan, Phd. I also recommend Driven to Distraction and Delivered from Distraction as these talk more about adult ADHD. Two great resources are www.additudemag.com and www.addresources.org . They are objective and professional in my opinion.
