It's a non-stimulant medication. Typically if you have something like bi-polar, a stimulant will cause more issues than focus. I am on Adderall, but I have clinical depression and anxiety, so it works for me.

My best friend's son is on Strattera. It has helped. Just realize that it may be a good idea to ask your doctor about behavioral therapy to help learn skills to work with your ADHD. I am lucky enough to be able to afford a life coach who specializes in ADHD...

Hope that helps.

stratterra is better for inattentiveness than hyperactivity but theres no knowing for sure until you've tried it for several weeks at the therapeutic dose

It helps me somewhat but not completely. I take 40 mg/day. No way to know how it will affect you but try it and see. Good luck.

The straterra should help. It helped me focus and concentrate more. Good Luck and report back.

I just want to chime in to agree with what was already said. You never know how it is going to effect you until you try it. My good friend was on Strattera and hated it, another friend LOVES it. For me, I was somewhere in the middle, didn't do too much for me.
Good luck!

It gives me headaches and imsonia (trouble falling asleep). I would suggest tracking down your symptoms. I am going to try a different medication. Another idea is to start with stimulants 1st.

I am on Lamictal & also take Concerta (for ADHD) & I feel the Concerta has been a life-saver. Been on it (72 mg.) for at least 12 yrs. Don't think I could function without it. On other meds for bipolar, as well.

My daughter recently started having major trouble a school with focusing on her work, the Dr put her strattera and she has already had major changes in her abilty to focus. Which has had a great impact of her memory and her tolerance of people around her telling her to focus.

the only few negative things I've experienced with straterra so far is that I got a headache for the first few days, somewhat of a queesy stomache the first day and I get tired for short times during the day. I take a 20 minute nap and I'm good as new again
