Hey guys. I have been on ADHD meds since I was 8. Mainly just Adderall. And I'm used to the side effects. I am just curious if these are normal... Um. The last few years I have been on and off of the meds. But now I am on and have to stay on them for a while. But anyways, the feelings I have are interesting. Normally when I'm NOT on the meds, I am a hungry girl. I like food a lot. But when I'm ON the meds, food does not look appealing. It doesn't make me feel sick to look at it. But I just have absolutely no desire to eat. Like none at all. I always drop like 20 pounds when I'm on the Adderall. So I'm just curious. I am not sick from hunger either. I only eat like maybe once a day if at all. And I had a bout with Anorexia when I was 13-14... But have been keeping straight with all of that. But with the Adderall I get a rush from not eating.... And I have ABSOLUTELY NO desire to eat. So I'm just curious if this is normal for anyone else.
Input is GREATLY appreciated:-)

I too have the same thing happen when I am on my adderall. Like you, it doesn't make me sick to my stomach, I just have no desire to eat. I will have breakfast and that is pretty much it. Sometimes I will eat a small dinner. But when I am not taking the adderall i gain weight and eat like a pig in heaven!

Loss of appetite is a typical side effect of adderall.

That side effect vanished within a week for me. Give it a little time; eating less for a week won't hurt you unless you're already underweight. (But make sure to drink enough water.) If it goes on longer, you may have to talk about switching meds, but in the short term, appetite loss isn't a big deal.

I'm not underweight right now... I have been in the past... I have a bit of an issue with that at times. And I get a little obsessed when I'm on my meds... But I'm keeping an eye on it and I will talk to my doctor if it gets out of hand. Thanks Callista:-)
