Mood swings are probably going to be another diagnostic issue in ADHD. Mine have qualified for bipolar disorder.
The last weeks, I have been very busy during weekdays, Very interesting and engaging. Then my energy and engagment spiraled up, and tiredness down. When the weekends came, i was tired but restless, buzzing around on Saturday, before settling down on Sunday.
If it lasts longer it may turn into hypomania, but not this time.

Many times ADHD and Bipolar go hand in hand. There may be something else going on. But, in adults the hyperactivity will present as irritability so that will also cause mood swings. The best thing is to talk to your pdoc and maybe add a mood stabilizer and see how that works for you.
