I think you need to see a different doctor. There are many drugs, many dosages... many treatment strategies that are of value with ADHD.

As an FYI, I have an anxiety disorder AND I also have ADHD and I USED to get panic attacks and it didn't matter whether I was on the medicine or off of the medicine I still got panic attacks. Sometimes I got them when I woke up in the morning for no obvious reason.

The reason behind or exacerbation of panic attacks and anxiety are not always caused by stimulants.

And this is why I hate doctors. Period. I don't give a damn I hate them all.

Have you tried Strattera? That is a non stimulant. There are others out there. Ask your pdoc about a non stimulant to treat the adhd.

I stopped for a while too, I couldn't deal with the crashes and one day I had a dizzy spell and I stopped, plus when I p/u my presc. it said might cause heart attack and stroke. Uh-uh no thanks. A couple of weeks ago there was a good show on PBS about ADHD and they were saying you have more of a chance of dying from aspirin than ritalin. I went back on it just cause the mornings were so hard, I'm just so depressed, I don't have the energy to do anything. The rit wakes me up anyway. I've been back on it a couple of days and I've been fine.

Give a try to Ritalin SR (sustained release), that might help since it will go into your bloodstream in a more steady state.
