Hi everyone, I am brand new here...I was diagnosed with ADD when I was about 5, I was put on Ritlan and it did nothing for me so my parents stopped it...fast forward a few years, I started anti-depressants when I was 14 and have been on them 9 years. I had a time in my life where I was using crystal meth for about 3 years and quit. I no longer have any sex drive, I'm always moody and recently I started to notice that I could not focus or even understand the simplest things that I was reading nor could I write any papers (I've always been considered intelligent and have even won awards for English writing) I feel like there's almost a fog in my brain. I get headaches and sometimes these pains that go through my brain for a few seconds and go away. I have been on Pristiq 50mg for a year, I thought maybe I needed something new, my doctor gave me ADD test and came to the conclusion that this is what I have. Because of my past meth use he suggested Strattera as well as taking Wellbutrin at night. I've been taking Strattera for 3 days and every day I take it I become extremely exhausted (to the point where I can't even stand and I have to sleep for at least 3-4 hours)and suffer from nausea. Later in the afternoon/evening I feel almost like I am high on meth again...I get weird tingles in my scalp and almost a racing feeling. Is this normal? I apologize for this being so long but I just need help from anyone out there...I'm so tired of experimenting with this prescription and that (especially since my insurance doens't cover it) Do these side effects last forever on Strattera? This is what I'm currently on:
Morning: Pristiq 50mg Strattera 40mg Night: Wellbutrin 150mg Any suggestions for me? Maybe taking Strattera at night? Trying a different non-stimulant ADD med? I really appreciate any help! I feel so alone in this, no one seems to understand what I'm going through. Marina |

Marina,
You really need to discuss these symptoms with your nurse because they don't seem right. I 'm thinkin about you! |

WOW! What a cocktail! If I were U, I would be inclined to consult an endocrinologist and get ALL of my hormones checked. Also, if there is anyone who knows which docs do what, it is pharmacists. Go talk to one, and let him/her know what u want. Some Crisis Lines are very sophisticated, some not. U might try to get some info from them. Also, read everything u can get your hands on about your symptoms. Find out what u think u would prescribe if U were the doc. Make SURE that u have someone to talk with! Support at a time like this is important!
