I never had ADHD or I didn't know it. I am over 50 yrs

It seems pre meno this kicked in, of course I tried the hormones etc as well as the meno herbs etc.

1 yr-2 yr later, had my insides frozen (some type of procedure), then some kind of laser thing, then a D&C, finally a hysterectomy.

That was 14 yrs ago.

I have been taking Ritalin past 12 yrs at times was switched to Concerta, Adderall the usual drugs.

I have been prescribed several anti-depressants over the years, they just don't work, the latest one I tried was Seroquel XR that made me sleep 12 hours and feeling horrible the next day.

recently paxil which gave me the restless legs and made me feel depressed.

I was taking Klonopin .05 mg 1/2 tablet 2x day

Now some new person at my drs office decides that Klonopin cancels the Ritalin which is not true, I hardly think 2 of the 1/2 tablets about 5 hrs apart did anything as far as canceling the Ritalin, at times the Ritalin will make you a bit nervous.

They give me Vistaril an older drug, took this before going to bed looked at the TV for awhile, in about 1 hr I really got the restless legs was a nervous wreck took my bp which was up & got scared, that passed I layed down must of slept for an hour, woke up with dry throat, dry mouth, eyes.

Got up and read about this med I see this is a med for sinus etc also.

I only have about 20 Klonopin left and I don't know what I am going to do, I cannot take the Vistaril besides that when I get sinus I get the kind that you do not drain and get the headache above your eyes.

I left the drs office that day very mad and upset, I am still upset, I do not even want to call them, what am I to do, take the Vistaril get sick and go to ER to get this problem addressed? of course I'll have to pay part of that ER visit, my insurance is not that great.

I feel I am being forced to look into other ways to buy the Klonopin this is not good, I am too old for this.

I don't know if I should call my regular MD, call the psych who prescribed this (and of course they are never wrong), I will see the therapist this week and tell them about it, the therapist is not affilated with the doctor.

I'm just at a loss, I'm tired of it, mad and upset and that's not helping any

I was going to rely to your post but you included so much information that I didn't know where to start~
I believe if you tell the Dr that the drugs he prescribed to you are causing side effects that are not manageable for you, the Dr should work with you to find something that does work. If you feel the Klonopin and Ritalin worked best then tell the DR. If they don't listen to you find another Dr.
