Why do you want to switch meds? Do you think the Ritalin is not controlling your symptoms anymore?

Is ritalin working for you?

Desoxyn is rarely prescribed and not particularly advisable, since it's methamphetamine. The potential for abuse is much higher than with other meds.

You might want to consider Concerta first because it's an extended-release version of Ritalin, so you don't have to take it as often and are less likely to forget a dose. It's the same active ingredient, so your doc may be more willing to consider that.

I took Concerta for years and it was fine. I did eventually switch to Adderall, which works better for me, but that was after starting a very demanding high-stress job.
