I am 20 years old almost 21 and I noticed some "symptoms"
x when i am reading a text i get distracted by little things x i always move or play with something x it's hard for me to stay on the topic x when i hear a word or a name everything i know about pops out x when someone is telling me a long story he always have to make it faster (otherwise i get bored/he looses my attention) , but when i am telling something i always have to tell all details/etc. x sometimes i have to reread something to understand it x i often can't fall asleep at night because there are a lot of things on my mind x i sometimes have a lot of ups and downs and mood swings x i can be really hyperactive at one moment but suddenly really calm at another x it is easier for me to be concentrated at the last moment then weeks before (like to do a project two days before, then to do it 2 weeks before and the grade is the same or sometimes better when i do it 2-3 days before) So I made some research and though about the solutions.. x and i have times when i get really mad and its difficult for me to calm down ... x i zone out x at one moment i am really loud and cheerful but suddenly i am quiet you know i find myself studying ok?then out of nowhere i read a word for example ,i wont say hear a sound (bec answers will come with sit in a quiet place and i do but it is not a deserted place ![]() ![]() i forgot to say it happens all the time as long i am getting stimuli from somewhere while i am eating, watching tv, alll the time,it like runs in the background of every minute i am awake |

I suggest you check with a therapist about your symptoms. We can't diagnose here and you sound like you have a lot going on. Could be ADHD, but I just don't know.
You can start with a primary care doctor first, if you'd feel better about that approach. Just explain (or even make a list) like you did here. ![]() |

I agree with Payne. A lot of what you listed sounds like ADD, so I would suggest talking to a psych who specializes in ADD and get evaluated.
Good luck ![]() |

That is quite an insightful list, very specific and complete, you seem to really know your symptoms well. Usually people with ADD can't describe their symptoms that articulately. I know I had symptoms that could be attributed to other disorders it was only through a process that it was finally diagnosed ADD.
Until you are evaluated by a professional, you should try following tips for managing ADD, you might be surprised how effective these exercises are for anyone. |

I can completely relate to all of those symptoms!
I am a university student and I find myself always distracted in class it's impossible to pay attention. When I study I have to reread stuff like 5 times before I actually know what I read and I find studying is pointless. I also physically cannot do stuff until the day before it's due and find it's better then! Another problem I had was being sooo fidgety, I couldn't sit still and at night I would just want to get up and go and wouldn't be able to sleep until very late. Then... I started taking fish oils. I'm not sure if you have ever heard of them but I was telling my grandma about this and that I thought I might have ADHD because I have a really hard time focusing and stuff. She gave me these and they are capsules, I take 2 a day. I immediately saw a difference. Not much, but I notice that I can sleep much better and I don't find myself as fidgety. I can focus better and just feel better in general. I also started working out a lot, it keeps your mind occupied and makes you really have to focus on what you're doing. Hope this helps. |
