HI members,

I am almost 30, married but still I lack seriousness in my work. I am a Post Graduate with MBA and doing Phd from a reputed university. currently I am working as a faculty. My problem is I take things very easily. Cant meet Deadlines, always postpones things which are important, cant pay utility bills on time, unable to concentrate on phd work, gives importance to the things which are not important, gives less importance to Family relations, doesnt have seriousness on any thing which requires some effort, try to run away from problems rather than solving it. But if I like any work, I will give more than 100% of my efforts but most of them are silly and not important activities.

Still have lot of symptoms which i will later but when i searched over net, I found that it may be ADHD. Can adhd be identified in adults? isnt it seen in kids? Kindly help me. This problem already stared showing its impact in my married life.

You can be diagnosed as an adult... Especially if you are bright and could compensate in school... All the things you are describing sound like ADHD...

ADHD can be identified in adults as it was for me and I was 40 at the time. Like you, I sought to get tested/seek help because it was wreaking havoc in my marriage. I encourage you to seek treatment. I can help tremendously!

Hi Everyone, I'm in a similar situation although I have not finished school yet I'm having trouble FINISHING ANYTHING i'm an artist and am getting better but slowly, I'm a huge procrastinator and my sisters are used to calling my name more than three times because it is totally the norm to them now although I'm in a relationship living with my fiance and we have a child my love!, well my fiance is NOT used to my behavior and usually puts me down as I cannot finish anything why I take forever to do simple tasks, and it really upsets me....I've always felt I have ADD but...even then say I'm going to call and then forget.

but. I send an email out today and hopefully meet up with a Psychologist and see how it goes. best of luck to everyone, sorry I can't be much help to others yet, I hope to meet other people with similar situations.

ek.

I agree with Blue, it sounds like ADD to me. I struggled my whole life and was finally diagnosed with ADD at the tender young age of 43
