In my upcoming visit with p-doc I will suggest a stimulant for my add. I tried adderrall xr last night. took 20mg, then 30 minutes passed by without feeling anything, so I took another 20mg and that's when the effects fell through. I was calmer, more relaxed, content with myself, easier to focus, I actually sat through a full movie w/o getting up one time. I also had no problems sleeping. I was wondering if I should try a methlyphendite first to see if it works better. What do you guys suggest? experiences? your favorite stimulant? and does focalin come in generic form? concerta also?

I have ADHD and take Concerta. Yes, Concerta comes in XR that means extended realease form. I am on the XR form of Concerta and it does wonders for me, though the downside is that my medication is expensive. I pay a co-pay of $55 for Concerta XR. I take 54mg of it I think the highest dose of Concerta is 72mg. May be different for children who take it. But despite the high cost it helps me focus. And I am calm when I take it. However, it does mess with my hunger very much. When I am on it I do not feel hungry and I cant eat. I sometimes have to almost force myself to eat, but then when it wears off I get very hungry. So it can mess with your hunger. But I dont have severe side effects. I have taken Adderall before, but in the XR form. I did not like Adderall it made me very moody. I was on a very low dose of it. But Concerta is the best ADHD medication, I think.

I recently got diagnosed with ADD. I took concerta and it made me wanna sleep 24-7. I felt so horrible on it. It got to the point that I seriously though I was ill. I consulted the doctor and got blood work done but it was all the symptoms from concerta. I haven't taking anything else yet. I'm scared to. I don't want to feel like that again. it was the worst feeling.

I've been on concerta and adderall. Concerta had bad side effects for me , and didn't make me focus. Only
Made me upset and irritated easily. I've tried the adderall xr, but was not fond of it because it didn't give me the concentration I needed. It may last longer than the regular adderall.. But didn't do what it was supposed to.. And I didn't want to overdue it wit the xr and take more than one since it is time released . Compared to spacing out my regular adderall throughout the day.

I would refer you to adderall xr,but since that hasn't worked for you and you hinted it took you 2 20mgs to com down, and everybody who in the pasts posts said that the concerta has either com them down or made them tired and sleep alot I would try that and start from the smallest dosage and work my way up until I felt comfortable on my meds...I hope this helped you I have never been on concerta before so I do not know how it works, but I have taken adderall xr 20 mgs and that dosage worked for me...
