I'm seeing an ADHD pdoc in about 2 weeks.
Should I just flat out tell her I think I have ADHD inattentive type? I think I may possibly have ADHD I failed and repeated the first grade constant trouble year after year for talking in class I constantly interrupt people when they are talking and answers question before hearing the full question I miss place things a lot I've always struggled in school, incomplete assignments, bad grades growing up my mother constantly had to repeat herself, still people often have to repeat I tend to forget I procrastinate a lot barely graduated high school failed a major test at my last job, but passed it the second time(could have lost job) started on an associates degree in the air force but never finished it I have difficulity reading lots of words, books, etc. I can read but its extremely hard to sit and even finish or even start a book. Makes studying for get hard. I've read less than 5 complete books in my entire life. Was apart of the reason I repeated the first grade and struggle with school to this day. |

You might have ADHD. It's good that you're getting help for your problems. But it could be also many other things such as depression, anxiety, autism, dissociation, a lot of stuff.

It very well might be. Get tested and meet with a psychiatrist to talk about any potential other/duel diagnosis. ADHD is commonly paired with anxiety and depression. There are also other conditions that can appear like ADHD like dissociation issues and even PTSD. You sound a lot like me though and I have ADHD.

Yeah they will probably test you to see if you have it if they think you have attention deficit. I had to take some, not so fun but at least I know I have it now. Good luck!

Yes, you can get tested through your psychiatrist. Walking into a new doc and announcing the diagnosis you think you have is not always a great idea :-). Talk about the symptoms and experiences and thoughts you're having instead. Then after that, wonder aloud if it's "something like" *insert diagnosis that you're wondering about*.
