My nine year old has ADHD and it is almost impossible to get her out of bed and moving in the mornings. She refuses to take her medication until it time to walk out the door, which lately has been late. After school it is also very difficult to get her homework done. I am out of ideas to keep her on task. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The mornings is a tough one. As the adhd brain will not work if it is not ready to work. Just like it won't sleep if it is not ready. As far as the homework goes, what things have you tried? Is there something your child likes but does receive very often, Maybe try setting a reward for your child getting there homework done each day. Then if that works and becomes a routine try expanding it out to if they do the homework two days in a row they get a reward. Or start from the beginning where if they do two days in a row of homework a reward is given. If there is something at the end of the tunnel and the brain knows it. It will sometimes kick into overdrive.
Thanks for this!
