Idk if it's my attention problems, bipolar, or both, but I can't seem to stick with things. Right now I don't have trouble with relationships, but I used to date one guy after another. Now I can't stick to a job. Does anyone else have this problem? I want to be successful but I can't focus, sometimes can't remember to eat or when my doctor appointments are. I write a bunch of notes and lose them. I'm afraid of not getting over this problem. I don't think I'm lazy except when I'm depressed if that counts. Just am soooo scatterbrained!!! :
I am having med issues which will be addressed when I see my doctor, I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem of jumping from one thing to the next. Like right now I'm reading 4 books at once because I get bored with everything.
Thanks sry if I'm rambling lol

Oh dear me YES all the time. I get about six hours of focused time from a dose of Adderall and then I'm all scattered again. (So on days when I need more focused time than that I take a second dose.)

Really hmm I took adderal and it made me super grouchy and sluggish. Medicines work different for everyone though

I usually take adderall 20mg 3X a day normally. Although I am having doctor issues. So things are falling apart around me but that is beside the point. I usually get 5 hrs of active use out of my adderall, things go good until the dose ends. Then I fall apart.

I've noticed that when I take Adderrall XR 20MG that I feel okay for most of the day, yet when it wears off I feel worse than before I took it. It's a terrible side effect, but I can't imagine going off of it again. I feel like a computer that is being overclocked, and I am just overheating to the point of exhaustion.
I don't really know, I did manage for a time without any medication and have been on and off stimulants since the 3rd grade, but my grades and the way my life has stalled are everything I have to show for it.

Adderall, gak!

I was on it was new. I barely slept and it was like a great big high then a very low low when it wore off. It was a rollercoaster 6 out of the 7 days a week when I was first started on it. It is one of the major reasons I'm worried about going back on medication if I talk to someone and they want me to start back on medication.

I'm very grateful that I don't seem to get much of a "high" or a rebound "low." Here's hoping it stays that way :-/.
Thanks for this!

I'm on Strattera. Although I'm still on the starter pack I've noticed that my focus has improved on the 65 mg dose. Also I feel more motivated instead of just blah. The side effects seem to be subsiding but I still feel tired sometimes. My pdoc wants me on 85mg daily and I'm hoping this will improve the internal restlessness that I still feel (although it is less than before).

I feel the same way. I started getting help a little late, but am in the process of finding the right medication to help. Everything takes time!

A true scatterbrain is writing this post. Sometimes I jump around so much that I'll ramble all over the planet in a conversation. Notes...got dozens of them but then I forget to read them. How ADD I am varies with my mood and my ability to get the hamsters off that darn wheel in my head. I'll jump all around, have racing thoughts and accomplish nothing. Then I get mad for not getting things done. Soooo.....yes I do understand. I'd appreciate some suggestions, too. I sure don't have any. Be well and be good to yourself.

My new psychiatrist doesnt think I have ADHD... Interesting considering all the tests I took that proved I have it. My therapist thinks I have it. I'm so frustrated, after almost ten years of psychiatric treatment I've gotten no where

Thanks. I think the mental health services in my area kinda suck. Maybe that's a general thing, who knows

Redbandit, are you wanting adhd meds?
If yes, any chance your medical dr can prescribe for you based on your therapist and tests? Don't mention the pdoc, though!

My regular doctor already referred me to the pdoc since he didn't want to treat my bipolar disorder. He likes to always refer me to specialists... Sigh
