Hi im new here my name is lauri im 21 years old. You guys seem to have lots of experience with these drugs so was hoping I could get some answers. I have been on many psychiatric drugs and some caused me akthasia not fun. No one can get my diagnosis straight. I really hate meds and have not been on meds for a whole year. I honestly don't need meds I can function fine off them hold a job and go to college. I find meds pointless because when you stop taking the med you are back to square one. Im sick of doing the med dance. And like I said I really can live my life off meds. I just had some trouble with college lately so wanted to try a stimulant because heard you can take it only when needed and heard it wouldn't feel bad when you didn't take it one day.

Well that was not the case for me. so I took vyvanse for a couple days then stoped for one day and got very suicidal and depressed which scared me a lot and I didn't want to feel that way so I decided this **** was **** and not for me. So Im like im not taking it and will just hopefully do better this semester with no meds again. My question Is does any one else feel this way when they stop it ?? I heard you can take it only when needed but I don't think you can because when I went off it for one day I got suicidal and depressed and was very tired and my stomach hurt. Any one else felt like that?? And like I said its pointless to take a drug lets say for a year and then stop and feel like **** again. I sick of the med dance I don't want that. Maybe I should just stay off all meds.

Also my other question is would a low does ONLY of a antidepressant with vyvanse help me not get suicidal and depressed when I stop taking it? Thanks

I have to say, i have been on meds for over 30 years now, back in the 1980's i didn't have a choice if i wanted the meds, the nurses and doctors just put me on them and i had no choice, it was just like one flew over the cookos nest movie.i don't see me going on or off any of the meds which im taking now, they are just what i need especially in the past 5 years, was put on propanolol for migrains i used to get every day, but since the propanolol not one headache except when i did have abilify added and went off it on my own and went through a headache for a week.

hi lauri. vyvanse is long acting (extended release). if you are like me, you like to sleep in on the weekends. I found taking one instant release adderall to do well as needed on the weekends. the dosage was 1/2 of the vyvanse dose. it is just enough for myself. everyone is different. ssris affect everyone differently so you can try it but if the suicidal aspect worsens talk to your therapist. you may need a mood stabilizer instead. good luck
Thanks for this!
