I'm considering possibly going to a doc to get my ADHD treated again. As a child I've tried everything adderall, strattera, Ritalin. All the drugs made me feel like a zombie and depressed. When I tried to pair them with anti d's - I had a manic reaction (I'm not bipolar but had a manic reaction - I went crazy.

How is yvanse as a drug? Does anyone know? Sorry if I'm not spelling that right?

Vyvanse is the only one that did not leave me feeling depressed or swing me to the maniac side. It helped, perhaps it might help you too if the others have not. It was longer acting and did not have a dip in the afternoon either, which appreciated as well.

I hope you find some help soon.

Vyvanse made it impossible for me to sleep. I was disappointed because it seems to work well for so many others.

Vyvanse is a stimulant I believe so I think it might have the same effects as the Ritalin and Adderall. Have you tried Concerta? The only issue I had with that one is that I got major headaches in the afternoon after it wore off. I'm on Focalin XR right now and so far, no negative side effects.

I've also heard Wellbutrin and Provigil have been used successfully as non-stimulant alternatives for ADHD.

it's worked out pretty well for me, helped a lot with focus. the only real side-effect i get is decreased appetite, but it's mind enough to not be a problem. the full effects last around 5 hours and it takes a few more hours to wear off. i've tried other things like concerta and adderall, but vyvanse is most effective and has the least side-effects, for me.

I like the effect of appetite suppression. But how long does that last

It's pretty much a Ritalin SR. What about Strattera?

I really like Vyvanse. It is smooth, not a hard crash.
I take it in the morning and I have no problems with sleep.
It keeps me focused and motivated.
I would start at a low dose and work up over time.
Take it with protein or it can mess up your stomach.
I also have no appetite at all... which I miss because I like to eat!
