I've been on Ritalin and currently on Adderall. I originally thought the Adderall worked better but it seems to have lost it's effect or in combination with my other meds isn't working as well as it did in the past.

Vyvanse lasts way longer and without the deadly crash of 72mg Concerta.

DEX is most definitely better for me than MPH (IR or/and XR).
The mood swings on MPH became manic, and the lows, ugh... The list of negatives of MPH for me is too long to write here. (and I need a break, been typing for a few hours, lol) I always was confused how the hell they can prescribe MPH to kids! (or any stimulant without trying other behaviour things first). I've had so many experiences with angry/rageful/emotional people in school on MPH growing up, and have seen so many end of day crashes with kids with ADHD on youtube/parents of on forums. I'm looking into mood stablisers at current though, may be getting a Bipolar/Cyclothymia dx soon. I had the thought that many people with ADHD (especially those with late dx) should read up about and ask about mood stablisers if not antidepressants. |

Vyvanse works pretty well for me. I've been on others, but they have never worked as well as Vyvanse.

I'm on vyvanse and it works pretty well. I was on Adderall XR before and I think it worked better for me for a long time until it lost it's effect after several years of working great. I'm pretty lucky though, I've only been on a couple different meds (Ritalin LA, Dexedrine, Adderall XR and now Vyvanse) over a span of 22 years and they've all worked pretty well for a while, only seemed to lost their efficacy after about 5 or 6 years.

ritaline 10x4/day.
Works best with short-acting multiple times a day. Five years going on and it didn't lose its efficacity. Concerta was as efficient as 2x ritalin 10. However, Concerta is too appetite suppressant for me, and I am already on the thin side. Paradoxically, it also helps anxiety 95% of the time. |

I did dexedrine and it works well. I would take 15mg 2 times a day, sometimes 20, if I didn't sleep very much. Sleep plays a big part in how the medication works (for me), if I sleep well, I notice the med the next day, if not, it just keeps me going and able to sit and continue working (my mind would still wander). It helped a lot in the long run for me, but it IS addictive. Make sure you take breaks every week because otherwise the withdrawal is not fun (very depressed, sleep for basically 3 days straight).
