I've pretty much live a busy somewhat stress filled life up till now. When I was growing up I was pretty much only focused on myself and hardly even realized others around me. For many reasons that was just how I was and being bullied all throughout my school years in a small town.
Then I was married to a man with drinking and depression issue, which he never addressed because he couldn't accept that he had any. I worked retail up till last year when I quit to have a baby. My life, even if money is super tight, is pretty good right now. I have a great boyfriend who loves me and a healthy baby. Yet, I seem to always be tired and just feeling blah. I do love my life more than most and very happy with what I have. I just don't know if the fact that my tiredness is a normal problem. My baby sleeps through almost every night, it's a very rare that she'll wake in the middle of the night. She'll have 2 naps a day and I'll sometimes have a nap when she does. I have recently been able to somewhat pen point a feeling that has always been there but I was too busy to fully accept that it was there. It seems that I jump into thing head first, never really stop wanting to make them happen, but get bored of them super fast. Sometime within a day or a week and have to force myself to keep going when at some point I'll start just doing it because I want to finish something that I started. Now I just feel like maybe I've just always been somewhat bore with life. Might I add I don't really think I'm depressed but then again some of these symptoms point to depression. I'm not scared of going back on medication for ADD or what not *just wish it was easier to find the right mix or dose*. I'm worried about going on medications for depression.bio-polar as I've never seen good from them. I'm also worried that because I'm super low income based healthcare the doctor I see will F--K up my life after I have a pretty cool grip on it after so long.

Hi Arwen. First, I'm glad things are okay for you and the baby right now, and you have a good boyfriend now too. That's great to hear!
![]() I think having (unmanaged) ADHD can lead to a lot of boredom tbh. It might help to get a lot of physical activity (if you aren't already), more general recreation, or even a way to stim if you need it (like a stim toy, or audio recordings or such). |

Next, I do what I use to do and that is listen to music while I "try" to do some work but my housework could use some help. Now I'm better at the housework than before the baby but I hate myself for how much of a mess it is in my apartment. Now, school starts at the end of the month. Maybe things will start feeling better when that happens. I also have a family physician appointment made for myself in Nov. as I've never had reg doctor because of money and moving so much. I hope that even if I end up seeing a psychologist first that I can still keep that appointment as I should really get a reg. doctor. =)

Ah that sucks that you can't fit in a good run when you want to. Do you think that for the times you can't do that, you could do something else instead (even if it isn't your first choice)? Like for example, another inexpensive alternative could be jump rope, if you want. Not the same thing and not the same environment, but it's also decent for cardio at least, and you can still listen to music or let your mind wander. (Maybe you can even do it outside if you have a yard or balcony.)
Note I'm waiting for my chance to be diagnosed still, but I either forget to do housework or hyperfocus on one task and take forever on it, so I could use some help there myself, lol. It seems to go best if I can listen to a podcast while doing it, I find. That eliminates hyperfocus (which for housework takes the form of obsessive perfectionism and endlessly widening the scope of the current cleaning job beyond what I need to be doing at that moment) at least. I'll still forget to do things here and there, but it will typically only be minor stuff I can come back to later! I'm sure school will help if you're looking forward to it. As long as you're studying a field and subtopics you care about, the structured environment could be beneficial. Good luck with the doctors! ![]() |

You sound very much like me when it comes to school work and housework. LOL I would say the only difference is my place is a total mess because I don't do much cleaning. Before it was I was busy doing 16-40 hours at work and 12-16 credit hour at school along with homework and hardly had time to do so. I mean try a 42 hour work week and finals the next week... I think the only time I was at home was to sleep that week. I needed to learn how to say no to the boss who had saved my butt so many times LOL.
I actually like school, don't know why. I like that I'm not a C-D student as I was in high school and now I'm more of a A-B student. I'm still waiting to score an A in Math but I've got 5-6 more Math courses that I'll have to take. Plus, I usually score B without trying and A if I work really hard and I hope to do so in my computer class this fall. I just can't wait to start Quote:
