Ok, so in the past few months, I've noticed that I've gotten really impatient and cloud-headed. I can't pay full attention in any of my classes besides social studies, and even there I'm getting up every 10 minutes, tapping my fingers on my desk, bouncing my leg, leaning back in my chair exessively, and messing with the dude sitting next to me(poking him with a pencil). In my other classes I get bored really quickly, even in my science and lit. Class, subjects I both enjoy, and I get really tired and sometimes fall asleep(mainly in my lit. Class). Whenever I'm standing in a line, like a lunch line, I can't stand still for more than a few seconds before I start pacing and tapping on the wall. When people are talking to me I usually forget what they say within a couple of hours, unless what they said really affected me.
I'm almost always multitasking, like if I'm writing I'm also trying to draw and play with my cat at the same time, and my writing and drawing is purely recreational, so I'm in no rush to do these things. Whenever the teacher says for us to not talk, I almost always find myself talking with the person next to me. I always doodle in my notebooks, and my doodles take up more space in them than my actual notes for some classes. I can't seem to immerse myself in reading like I used to, because now I can't read without thinking about other things, and I can't focus very much on the text. I don't know if this is just normal for a person my age or if it actually is ADD(because most of my classmates don't act like this). |

Hi BroadwayTheCat!
I used an online add test to help me determine whether I should bring it up with my pdoc. It was really easy and it's right here on PsychCentral: http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/ Just answer honestly & then maybe discuss the results with your doctor. Good luck & bravo for reaching out! |

If the symptoms have only been present for a few months then it is not ADHD.
What long term symptoms have you had? |
