I'll make this short, and as NON-ADHD as possible.

I was on Vyvanse for a year, + dex/adderall boosters due to a high metabolism. Worked great!

Had to switch up the Vyvanse due to insurance changing, and I am now on just Adderall IR. No weight loss, energy surge, or "speed" effects. Sometimes its great, sometimes its not. I am just trying to figure out my dosage - My doctor gave me xx mg per day, and said do not go OVER this much (and gave me time frames) and said work with it - since he can only see me once every 2 months (great DR. though).

I sometimes find myself feeling foggy, unfocused, lethargic, and indecisive. Basically ADDx10. I know I have an insanely fast metab, so I am wondering if I am burning through the IR too fast.

20mg wake up (empty stomach + water) = good effects within 30 mintes
^ Eat (Protein)
Then...

I redose as necessary, but I am trying to space it out as much as possible - Since you can always take more, but ya cant take less. I find that after 4ish hours I get foggy, out of it, and just zombie mode.

Any ideas? Is this the med just wearing off? Maybe Cranking the dose up a bit higher initially?...And yes, I am prescribed this med, and can take up to 60mg daily of 10mg IR tabs. I usually haven't been hitting 60mg, since just in the trial and error stage. Any help appreciated. Too much vs too little?

I eat very healthy, no caffeine, no junk food, work out, sleep well, and no drugs/alcohol.

you might be suffering from withdrawal affects from the Vyvanse perhaps?

I was wondering if you've ever tried Strattera? My PDOC was going to put me on Vyvanse but even with my insurance I couldn't afford it
I'm starting Strattera Friday
Good luck

It definitely isn't Vyvanse withdrawal (it's been several months since the switch, and I didn't have problems), and Strattera has been no-go'ed by both myself and my doctor. I've had several friends on it who hated it, and had little improvement on it, and also reported awful mood swings. I've decided to stick with what I know for know (the amp meds), since my body is relatively used to them, and insurance covers them. I think it's just a dosage thing now. Trying to figure it out.

It does seem like I need a sort of large ramp up for the first few hours of my day, meaning one dose, then another + .5 other spaced out, then minimal after that. Not sure yet though.

Maybe try the extended release?

Vyvanse is extended release so it's "supposed" to work 8 hrs.
