Is that how it's supposed to work? My weight is 108 pounds (49kilograms). I'm taking Ritalin, 5mg. My concentration doesn't seem better, I'm just tired not sure about the ability to focus? Does it mean I don't have adhd if ritalin doesn't work on me?

Ya even 300-600mg makes me sedated (don't ever do that. You will die. Just a stupid thing I did)

Most people with ADHD (like us) don't have the "amphetamine euphoria gene" and get sedated by ritalin. Ritalin is a calming stimulant. They even wrote on the bottle for me, "May cause drowsiness". Lol it's a stimulant but for us it's a calming stimulant. Also, I weight 150lbs and take 15mg. Maybe you would benefit from 10-15mg because 5mg is the lowest dose.

If not then try adderall. 25% of the amphetamine is the left part of the molecule which is more stimulating. It depends on if you need to calm down or be kicked by adderall. For me I'm hyper so ritalin does it's job as well as keeping me awake.

If you yawn then it means you're taking too much because that's a response of having too much dopamine in the brain at once.

Thanks a lot, that would explains things. Maybe 10mg would work for me better. Unfortunately, adderall isn't really available in the UK so doctors don't prescribe it.

Adderall works (side effects suck) v Ritalin which makes me sleep?!

I hated the side effects of Adderall (IR 30am, 20afternoon... I'm already prone to anxiety, no interest in food, and felt dehydrated no matter how much water or electrolytes I took in - dropped crazy weight, super fast) SO, my DR. switched me to Ritalin (2/20mg AM - 1 20mg afternoon) in hopes that the shorter acting (3-4 hrs) would allow for easier meals in the AM and PM. I also have major problems sleeping, but that's from... always. I take a sleeping pill to help calm my panic and nerve attacks and help me rest.

Anyway, I'm totally frustrated. Adderall helped me realize how easily I can get sucked down the distraction rabbit hole and problem solve to finally complete assignments and projects. NOW Ritalin just makes me want to lay down on the couch and even with a pot of coffee... nap in the middle of the day despite getting eight hours of sleep the night before.

Why? What's the difference? I just don't understand. I seriously hate ADHD.
