I'm a freshman in college and I've been determined to keep up with my school work, go to all my classes, take my medication, etc.

Yesterday, I was going out to breakfast with someone and I wanted to be polite and actually eat breakfast (my ADHD medication suppresses my appetite). So I decided to take my meds after breakfast instead of before, as usual. I had a nice breakfast. And forgot to take my meds. Forgetting meds is such an unfortunate cycle because if you don't take them once, you forget to take them at all. And if you don't take them, how are you supposed to remember for the next time? Anyways...

I have a 3:10 English class every MWF. I set myself a reminder on my phone that day so that I left for the class on time. It went off, and I left for the class. I considered stopping for an iced tea but decided to just go to class early. I got to the classroom and sat down in my usual spot. I had this funny feeling that something was wrong. I saw my professor leaving the lecture hall and I was like, "Oh, I guess we must have a sub". Because he teaches the class before in the same lecture hall, it wasn't unusual that I saw him. I got out my notes and was looking through them when I realized that there was a chemistry powerpoint being projected. I turned to the girl next to me and said, "what class is this?" she said chemistry. I said, "do you usually have class here?" and she looked at me funny and said yes. I looked at my clock and realized that it was 4:00. I had set my alarm as if I was going to a 4:10 class. I do have a quiz at 4:10 on Fridays. I rushed out the door and barely made it to the quiz on time.

But how embarrassing. I had the time wrong and I had it in my mind that everyone else was in the wrong room at the wrong time. Not me. How embarrassing.

Does anyone else have any embarrassing ADHD stories? I'm so embarrassed.

ADHD or not this could happen to ANYONE. And I'm in college too. Don't beat yourself up for a simple mistake. You'll be extra careful next time

Is it just me or it sometimes doesnt even occur to me to look at where I am going? I've turned up in wrong classrooms, wrong lectures, wrong exam halls before. And I am not sure how that fits into ADHD - forgetting to even bother looking at signs/checking where I am supposed to be at?

I constantly park my car in lots and then don't have a clue where. I never take note of which dept. in the store that I walked in to from the lot so when it's go home time, I play Russian Roulette with which door to go out to hopefully find my car. This sucks big time when its either raining or freezing out. Or you're running late and need to get a move on. I want to be microchipped to my car. Sometimes the key beep thing doesn't work cause the car is parked too far from where I'm standing. #firstworldproblems

Definitely been there. The worst thing is sometime's driving and when I get to my destination I'm left wondering, "how did I get here already?" because I don't remember the trip.
