Does anyone ever get the urge to impulsively spend even when they know it's a terrible idea? I know it's gonna mess up my credit and I'm trying to hold off til I come to my senses but I really want to.

Hello Melmo: The Skeezyks doesn't have much of a problem with this anymore. In fact, at this point in my life, I rarely spend money on anything. But, throughout my life, I spent SO much money on just useless stuff... trying to assuage the despair within. It makes me cringe to think about it... Good luck with your efforts!

I don't think it's impulsive to buy what you need. I tend to "impulsively" shop when I am feeling lonely. But I usually do not get things I need, but more often clothes that make me feel pretty or pretty shoes or purses and stuff like that. I try to stay on a tight budget, but usually just blow it every once in awhile. Almost always, because I feel lonely. But sometimes I am just jittery and unsettled for no reason I can put my finger on. However, every time I impulsively shop, afterward, I slow down and try to ask myself "what's really going on here?" but it always seems to be "after the fact".

I used to buy stuff impulsively all the time, but what I did is I made a budget for each week. If I had left over from groceries and stuff I'd either safe it or buy something once. It takes a long time but now it even hurts to spend money.
Thanks for this!

I find I do this quite often especially when I'm shopping by myself. They say "never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach". Even if I eat a 3 course meal before grocery shopping I still buy plenty of stuff that was NOT on my list.
Stores like target are the worst because I will go in for one thing and come out with 10 items and down $75.
Thanks for this!

I have been very very poor in the past…Now I only spend on what I need. Saving for a rainy day can become quite addictive... once it starts to pile up.
