HELLO, I havent been diagnosed with ADD but i think i have sometimes. I do have Tourettes Syndrome (TS) and it gets hard for me to focus, because part of me wants to pay attention to others or whats going on around me, but the other part of me wants to tic. Is that how it is with ADD? Is there a struggle in your brain mechanisms also? because i think i may have that problem too.

What you have is part of tourettes. the difficulties you have in paying attention simply come with tourettes.
Attention Deficit Disorder normally is more commonly associated with Hyperactivity. That is why sometimes you see ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), but it is sometimes associated to other conditions. Some of us believe ADD/ADHD is not a learning disability but a learning diference, where the brain simply process information a little different than the "norm". The problem is that, our teachers only know how to instruct the "norm". Multisensorial learning seems to help a lot of ADD/ADHD students. You may want to check into that. Also, discuss it with your therapist, I'm sure he/she can help you figure it out. gab
