I have a relatively new psychiatrist. I switched psychiatrists to an adult doctor and the first thing he did was diagnose me with ADHD. I guess it's "that bad" that he could see it in the office. I knew I had it, but I didn't realize how much it could affect my life and anxiety.
Do you have any tips on how to deal with ADHD as an adult? |

I know there are books out there that would give you some advice, just search on the Internet.

Be patient. With yourself and with the treatment process. If you choose to try medications, it can take a while to find the right med and the right dose. Even if you find it, medication is not a fix-all. For me, it took years to develop and accumulate tools and strategies to help me organize my life. Everyone is different and it's really a trial and error process in discovering what is going to help you personally. Hopefully, your psychiatrist will be there to help you along the way.
