I have terrible ADHD in the way that I get disturbed from hyperactivity like walking around my room constantly while struggling to stay seated, I play video games like as often as I can while I'm awake, I struggle to get anything done, I talk fast and random with no clear flow to what I'm saying often (probably like I'm doing here possibly). I'm 22 and in college being treated for ADHD and OCD because I have both, but never have been truly "diagnosed" with anything because nobody has ever bothered to. But anyway, I am thinking of taking a drug holiday from my ADHD meds, but I don't know if I want to again because my ADHD is about as severe as you can get. I am really disabled in my life without amphetamines and I take Vyvanse/Dexedrine both pretty much every day. I know of the addiction risk, them being Schedule 2's, and all the works so I'm not new to ADHD and have had it a long flipping time, so I don't need any basic info. I'm tired of trying to figure out how to treat ADHD and OCD together with very little success since amphetamine+SSRI is a bit of a drug interaction (moderately most consider), so I just don't even know if it's worth trying to treat either if treating one just makes the other worse (as it does for me). If I take SSRI's I cannot focus at all to save my life and I'm not joking I cannot sit still, I move my body like I have electricity shot through me at times, I am just beyond frustrated and I don't even think amphetamines do good even though people like them a lot. I get super depressed and tired when they wear off and I just generally feel bland (probably from all the dopamine coming down) and I just don't know how to change any of this because my doctor and therapist are like the most insightful people ever but even they don't know many treatments besides just SSRI/Methylphenidate/Amphetamine for OCD/ADHD. It's a real struggle and I am just sharing my story/struggles to possibly enlighten others or just to rant because I've had a long run with meds and just not much success (maybe 20-30% reduction in symptoms for ADHD and 50% let's say for OCD).

I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time. But thanks for sharing your struggle. It's been a few days now since you posted this. Hopefully some other members, here on PC, may yet have some similar experiences they can share. I wish you well...

You should definitely talk to your doctor about managing the meds first.

Hi Jake,

I can relate how you struggle with ADHD, I've been diagnose for about 5 years now, and I've been having schedule with my doctor too which help me alot. I read blogs about ADHD in order to get insights too, would you like to read it too? Hope it can help you too.

Thanks
