My doctor just started me on Guanafacine HCL ER 1 MG which is generic for Intuniv. It is a non stimulant treatment form for ADHD. Before, I was on Straterra and it was not working for me and adding to my depression.
I have never heard of the med she prescribed me and when I started researching it, I found it was mostly prescribed to children ages 5-17. I take it at night and it makes me very tired and drowsy but I do feel it is helping better than the Strattera. I am not as impulsive, etc.

Does anyone else have experience with this medication?

My son is 7 and he has been on same dose for a couple of weeks. It calmed him down some hyperactive-wise but he has been getting angrier at stuff. We're giving it a couple more weeks and see if it changes.
