Dx OCD and ADHD. Life is miserable without medicine. Taking Zoloft 100 and Vyvanse 50 with Dexedrine 10-20 PRN, and Lunesta/Ativan 1-2 mg each PRN, Hydroxyzine 150 daily, melatonin @ bedtime up to 15 mg in an herbal capsule, sleep apnea supplement for breathing. I'm on too many meds and it's getting ridiculous trying to know what is doing what anymore. I try to wiggle the dose on any of the sleep aid things and my insomnia goes berserk! I tried to go from 2 mg of Lunesta to 1 mg and didn't sleep until 6 A.M. I tried to cut the Zoloft down to 75 slowly and then 50 slowly, but had insane mood changes, irritation, forgetfulness, and lethargy. I'm so baffled that I cannot change anything without such dramatic issues. I must have a really sensitive system, but also am on too many meds. I'm upset that I got put on so much and I'm forgetting Androgel I use for testosterone, as if that wasn't enough already. Blah, this is going to be rough working through all this. The last time I tapered off 7 medications and it took over 5 months to clear myself off it all, and this time is probably going to be like a solid year or more.

Yes, getting off of med's can be rough especially when one is on so many I would guess. Hopefully you're tapering off with the oversight of your physician. Here are links to some articles from PsychCentral's archives on the subject of titrating off of psych med's:

I'm totally doing everything on my own because doctors never allow me to try time off SSRI's because they say I'm not giving them a chance when it's been over 30 medicines and 6 years of trials and fails. I cannot explain the frustration.

If you are going to stop taking meds be sure to wean off of them over time! I made the mistake of stopping Zoloft out of the blue and it really messed me up.
